1. El Día de Los Muertos – Nov. 1, Cumming Library
Translated, the name of this Mexican holiday means “Day of the Dead.” It’s a celebration highlighted in recent animated films, “The Book of Love,” and “Coco.” Through crafts, stories, and poetry in both English and Spanish, you’ll learn more about Mexico and the Latin culture in the Cumming community.

2. 2018 Annual Chamber Celebration – Nov. 2, Forsyth Conference Center
Black-ties and upscale business set the stage for a night of reflection and growth during the Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce’s largest event of the year. The annual Chamber event mixes learning and a chance to let down your hair. Enjoy dinner, music, inspirational talks, and a chance to mingle with the area’s top leaders.

3. November to Remember – Nov. 3, All Pets Emergency & Referral Center
Adopt a cat or dog during the “November to Remember” event and receive a take-home care package including a collar, leash, food samples, and other assorted items. In addition, speak with a veterinarian on-site and browse vendor tables for the perfect presents for your new pet.
4. Girls’ Lacrosse Clinic – Nov. 7, South Forsyth High School Stadium
Girls in K – 8 can get an introduction to lacrosse just in time for South Forsyth High School’s inaugural season and the accompanying elementary/middle school feeder program. And, they can learn to carry, pass, and shoot using provided sticks and goggles, and figure out whether spring participation is right for you.

5. Disaster Preparedness Workshop – Nov. 9, Emergency Management Agency
How would a natural disaster impact your business? Master emergency preparation and create a plan for crisis communication and more during this Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce workshop.

6. Cumming Steam, Antique Tractor & Gas Engine Expo – Nov. 9 – 10, Cumming Fairgrounds
The Cumming Antique Power Association will host its 17th annual expo the second Friday and Saturday in November. Visitors will see a working shingle mill, sawmill, and cotton gin, as well as a collection of steam engines and tractors.

7. Diwali Celebration – Nov. 11, Sharon Forks Library
Celebrate Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights. Embrace the triumph of light over darkness as you eat traditional Indian foods, make crafts, and learn to create henna tattoos. Watch performances by the Darshini Natyalaya School of Dance, Atlanta Nritya Academy, and NG’s Dance.

8. Christmas Arts & Crafts Festival – Nov. 11 – 12, Forsyth Conference Center
Another event, it’s fourteenth year running, the Sawnee Association of the Arts’ holiday festival includes a juried art collection of painting, pottery, drawing, glasswork, photography, woodworking, and mixed media pieces. This popular event is also known for hosting local organizations and more than 100 vendors showcasing their best holiday fare. And, the festival offers special activities for kids include two Moonwalks and an elf-centric shopping nook, with a personal shopper and gift wrapping assistance.

9. Community Garden Day – Nov. 16, Post Road Library Poetry Garden
Another event, master gardeners mix plants and play as they instruct little ones on the best ways to thin, weed, and harvest. Furthermore, learn tips and tricks for gardening alongside children and sink your fingers into the soil as you and your little ones have fun. Please provide supervision, and your own supplies, if available.

10. Turkey Day Tales – Nov. 20 – 21, Forsyth County Public Libraries
Next, check library branches near you for Turkey Day Tales and other Thanksgiving-themed story times and activities. Hampton Park, Cumming Library, and others are hosting days of crafts, snacks, puppet shows, and scavenger hunts to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday.

11. HCA Gala – Nov. 30, Forsyth Conference Center
Lastly, be there for the 17th annual HCA Gala hosted by the Horizon Christian Academy. Dinner provided by local catering company, Chef Kern. Also, music and a night of a fun will help raise funds for the school. In addition, live and silent auctions add to the festive flair.
Tickets $50 – $75.
